TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (FTN) – A Terre Haute dad says he used his son’s dinner time to to build an elaborate, over the top Mega Bloks tower.
Chris Essex is the father of two-year-old Alex Essex.
Chris said he took advantage of his son’s dinner to lay on the floor and build.
“Um….so I think this is the most complex thing I’ve been able to build since he has been born,” Chris said.
The tower was reportedly 13 layers tall and was topped off with a checkered flag.
Chris said the tower also included an entrance and had a unique design.
“I went with a wider bottom, and then I went to a little bit more narrow of a design as it got higher,” Chris said.
It took most of Alex’s dinner time to build the tower.
He said he working to have it declared a “Wonder” of the modern toddler world.
“I couldn’t have done it without my wife,”Chris said. “She kept Alex busy and helped him with dinner while I built.”
We asked Chris how long the tower stood after Alex was done with dinner.
“Not long enough…I just want to talk about the achievement. Not the destruction,” he said.
His wife, Ami, said Alex demolished the tower as soon as he got done with dinner.
