Source: With the addition of a large train table, playroom toy layoffs are on the way

VIGO COUNTY, Ind. (FTN) – Toys in one Terre Haute home could be let go as part of a restructuring effort, according to a new report.

The source that came to FTN with the news said they want to remain anonymous.

According to the source, three-year-old Alex Essex recently acquired a new train table that takes up a substantial amount of room.

Our source claims to have overheard conversations between Alex’s parents, Chris and Ami, about getting rid of some of the toddler’s old, less played with toys.

“They need to make additional room in Alex’s playroom to make space for the train table. I’ve overheard them talk about a few specific stories…but I don’t want to speculate on the record,” our source told us.

We reached out to Chris about the claims.

“It is way to early to think about something like that. Look, we are always looking for ways to improve the playroom. It is something we need to stay on top of. But a lay-off of toys is not something we are prepared to talk about right now,” Chris said in a written statement.

Layoffs historically happen right around Christmas time in the Essex home, as new toys are added.

Alex, in the past has spoken out strongly against letting go of old toys, demanding some remain in place.

“I just hope they don’t do it like they have in the past…middle of the night, banking on Alex not noticing. We will see,” our source said.

We will continue to follow this story and bring you more information as soon as it becomes available.
