TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (FTN) – Two Vigo County parents say they miss the days when falling back during Daylight Saving Time was the one they looked forward to. Now, they say their favorite has swapped to spring.
On Sunday, November 3 people across America (except Arizona) had to roll their clocks back one hour.
Chris and Ami Essex are the parents of three-year-old Alex. They say they miss the days when having an extra hour was a great bonus.
“You could stay up an hour later and still get the same amount of sleep. It was great. The bonus weekend hour,” Chris told us.
He went on to say the extra hour with Alex isn’t what bugs him, it’s that Alex wakes up at the same time no matter what.
“He usually wakes up at like, 7:30 a.m., which I have started to become good with. I got use to that. Today, it was 6:30 a.m. I am a zombie. It was a toast and nutrigrain for breakfast kind of morning,” Chris told us.
Springing forward was traditional the one the couple hated but now they say it is their favorite.
“He sleeps in for an hour, as compared to usual. So that 7:30 becomes 8:30. That one is nice,” Ami said,
Both parents say Alex will adapt to the change, but it will take a few days. In the meantime, they are speaking out against Daylight Saving Time…but admit they are doing nothing to enact change.
