Nutri-again? Parents say three-year-old is hooked to blueberry Nutri-Grain

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (KNN) – A pair of Vigo County parents have expressed concern after learning their three-year-old has a Nutri-Grain problem. More specifically – Walmart branded blueberry fruit and grain bars.

Ami Essex says she” and her husband Chris started keeping Nutri-Grain bars around for a quick snack or breakfast for their son Alex.

“It was just something quick – you know if he wakes up at 6:00 a.m. and you are too tired to cook…it’s something quick to give him,” Ami said.

Parents said Alex has started demanding blueberry Nutri-Grain bars though.

“We’ve had to throttle him. We will give him one and he goes bottomless pit wanting another,” Chris said. “We usually get him to eat a banana if he is still hungry.”

We asked Alex about his Nutri-Grain problem.

“I do have a Nutri-Grain problem,” Alex admitted.

Moving forward parents hope to get him addicted to a healthier snack.
