TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (KNN) – Parents say for the third day in a row, their four-year-old son has provided a nice wake-up experience.
It started on Sunday morning when Chris and Ami Essex say their son Alex went to his train playroom and just started to play, without waking them up.
Alex normally storms into the bedroom and jumps on the bed, climbing on the couple. Parents told us he will sometimes try to push toys in their faces.
“On Sunday, I woke up at 7:00 a.m. like I normally do. Alex is usually up around 6:45…I didn’t hear him. I took the time to wake up slowly. When I got out of bed around 7:40, I found him in his engine room just nicely playing with trains,” Ami told us.
Parents told us on Monday, they thought they had an early morning when Alex came into their room around 5:30 a.m.
“He was a little climby…but we told him to go back to sleep, not actually thinking he would…he did. That’s the first time he’s ever gotten out of bed, came to our room, and went back to sleep. I’ll take it,” Chris said.
Around 7:00, when Ami had to wake up for work, Alex wanted to stay in bed.
Tuesday morning played out much like Sunday, with Alex waking up to go directly into his train room.
Ami was working, but Chris told us he enjoyed the extra sleep.
Parents say they really hope this trend continues moving forward.
